High Quality Construction and Materials

We could have a million of the best features, but without quality materials and solid construction you'll just be bummed when your bag gives out. If you don't like our ergonomics or our styles, then at least you'll have a rugged long lasting bag.
BBP Bags hand selects all materials to bring you the best combination of performance, durability, and style. We ensure each and every bag is constructed with the highest tolerance and we back it up with our BBP Bags lifetime warranty. Our factory not only has a team of quality control engineers, but we go to the extreme and hire additional 3rd party quality control engineers to oversee the entire production process. We're no mega bag maker, but we're proud we put in the extra effort and in case you don't believe us we back it up with our warranty.

Exterior Fabrics (1st layer)
We select fabrics that are tough and look great as well. We use 1680 denier ballistic nylons (the same type of nylon material used to make bulletproof vests), 900 denier high density nylon, or rugged heavy duty canvas. All of our nylon exterior fabrics are also backed with either polyurethane coating or PVC to make the first layer water resistant. If you come across other brands that use 3000D+ ballistic, it's actually not much stronger and the texture just looks bad. Pass. There are also those 1000D Cordura nylon bags. Sure, the nylon is durable, but we just hate how its rough texture picks up lint worse than that black wool sweater at the bottom of your closet.

Interior Lining (2nd layer)
We use super tough heavy weight PVC tarpaulin for the main compartment. Yes, the same stuff used by ocean life boats, tents, military trucks, etc... It has nylon thread inside for extra strength similar to those security windows with criss-cross wiring. In other words, our bags interiers are super tough and are basically waterproof. We say basically because to make them truly waterproof we'd have to glue seams or use GoreTex. We figured you won't be using your bag to carry your computer or books to that floating chair in the swimming pool. If you spill inside one of our bags, just wipe with a damp cloth. And it's orange not because it's cool (not to say it isn't), but because you can see what you put inside. No more reaching inside a black bag and not knowing what you're pulling up.

For all the little compartments, we use 420 denier nylon with polyurethane backing. We stress nylon because cheaper bags actually use polyester. We also went the extra mile and used the heavier 420D nylon versus 210D.

Laptop Protection
We debated a lot about this and decided to go with high impact plastic on the backside along with 10mm high density foam on the front, back, and bottoms. We also created a sandwich padding design so that the laptop is always held snugly. We also include snugfit adjusters to keep your laptop from sliding sideways in case you have one of those tiny 12" laptops. It's about as good as it gets without going to a hard case or a super bulky design. Lastly, we lined the compartment with soft felt to keep your valuable laptop pampered.

Velcro can be evil
Generally we think it's evil because if you've ever owned a messenger bag, it's damn noisy when you open the main flap, it snags sweaters, and it sticks to your carpet when you drop your bag on the floor. On top of that, it also tends to be the first thing that wears out and gets jammed with lint. So we made a stand against the spread of velcro. We use it very very limitedly for applications that don't get changed often like the snug fit laptop adjuster. It's just a necessary evil sometimes. However, we do like velcro on those retro sneakers.

Zippers
We use high tech water resistant rubberized zippers or flat seam zippers. They're not only functional, but they also look great. High quality black lacquer finishes. And for your convenience as well as some asthetics, handy zipper pulls to make opening and closing easier.

Buckles and J-hooks
Our buckles and J-hooks are made of Acetal (or Delrin as Dupont commercially calls it). Acetal, also known as polyacetal, polyoxymethylene (POM), or polyformaldehyde, is a high performance engineering polymer that was developed to be a synthetic replacement for metal. Enough with the techno babble. All you need to know is that it's not cheap ABS plastic that will snap on you like a cracka. We also picked oversized buckles not just because they look good, but because they're easy to use.

Metal D-rings
No cheap plastic D-rings. Only black lacquered metal D-rings are used. Some things are just better when they're basic and tough.

Stitching, Bar Tacking, and Seam Tape
We top stitch throughout and bar tack at stress points (over 20!). We also don't use cheap seam tape either; we use high quality seam tape. All of our fabric joins are covered and not exposed. No more fraying, plus the detailing is right on with that clean look
